When I say looking on the inside I mean looking at the characteristics of who you are. Looking on the inside requires being self aware. It means actually taking the time to look at your behavior patterns, and adjusting them accordingly. I personally have a lot of work to do in this area. Although I have been walking with God for quite some time now I still have yet to arrive. I truly believe that with time things get better, but only when we are putting forth the necessary work to do so. I'm also learning that with that you cannot slack off or you will be back stuck in that same old unhealthy behavior pattern that you are trying to work your way out of.

"You cannot slack off or you will be back stuck in that same old unhealthy behavior pattern that you are trying to work your way out of."

I do this often and find myself back at square one. It is extremely hard to change ways that have always been done. It feels like being on a hamster wheel at first, but the more you work at it you will begin to see and feel the small changes within yourself. I get frustrated when I stop, because it's like I have to work my way back up and I can't resume from the progress of where I left off. There is nothing more disappointing than having to rework your way out of something that you were previously stuck in. We will always make mistakes, and fall short of the glory of God, but even when we do we have to rework our way out again.
