LEARN HOW TO BUILD YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD

Pacing Yourself

One thing that I am learning in this season is that there is no need to rush. For the longest I've had this inward feeling of just having to reach my goals. I never focus on the journey, and I am dragging my way through most of the time. I never stop to smell the roses, and I certainly don't take time to look back and see just how far I've come. I think it is vital that we learn to understand, and embrace pacing ourselves in such a way that we are not rushing to meet our goals. We must learn to slow down. I hear often that the beauty is in the journey not the destination. What I get from that is to learn, and grow through our experiences on our way to our desired goal. Instead of focusing solely on the future take time to look around you and see what you are currently standing in, and appreciate it.

"The beauty is in the journey not in the destination."

I find it hard to embrace where you are especially when it isn't an ideal circumstance. Even through that though, I believe we must learn to find a way to appreciate what that not so ideal circumstance is teaching us. I don't believe that God would allow us to go through things just to go through them, so it is up to us to figure out what He is trying to reveal or teach us in that experience. I believe to pace yourself means to embrace the journey. Don't look too far ahead, look back to see how far you've come every so often, and stand firm in where you are now giving yourself fully to the experiences that you are currently standing in.
