Surrender To The Struggle

When we recognize that struggle comes with life and that it is literally inevitable the manner in which you deal with any struggle changes. I am currently struggling with this myself. Trying to change and become a better person is no easy task. It's literally a day to day battle within your flesh and your spirit. One part of you would rather stay comfortable while there is an inward pull to make a better life for yourself. The weight of that for me has become exhausting to the point I am struggling to maintain change. I find myself falling back into the snare of comfort and pulling myself out. It's a repeated cycle and I am just ready for change to be a momentum that becomes consistent.

I realize just like with anything else that I have to do that I wish not to do I just simply have to do it. I came to this understanding when I was being consistent on my fitness journey. I was training myself to not operate throughout my day based off of how I was feeling but off of what I needed to get done. It was me pushing myself regardless to how I felt and not giving into those thoughts of self sabatoging. I did this and a whole week had passed by without me recognizing it and I noticed that the things I was doing repeatedly was becoming my routine. I replaced the things that didn't serve where I wanted to go with those things that did and now I understand that surrendering to the struggle is relying on self mastery rather than how your feeling.
